Earth Day Festival Success

This year’s Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival was sponsored in part by Oniracom, along with The Community Environmental Council (CEC), SONOS, and Horny Toad. The weekend-long festival saw plenty of visitors from the local Santa Barbara community along with local vendors of environmentally conscious products and services.

Matthew McAvene is a long-time friend and member of the Oniracom partner ecosystem. His talent with both visual-art and music are extraordinary; and his dedication is particularly evident in his newest undertaking, Macky World. Macky World is a series of products, collectables, characters, crafts and creative stuff for kids. Oniracom created a Custom E-Commerce Website for MackyWorld.com the site features a store and an interactive product and character database.

Radiohead in Santa Barbara

On April 12, 2012 Radiohead rocked the Santa Barbara Bowl yet again (full setlist here). Mr. Yorke seems to love this place each time he plays, but who wouldn’t? This outdoor amphitheater is much more intimate than Red Rocks or the Gorge, as it is set in the picturesque hillside of the Santa Barbar Riviera. The often humorous banter between songs and loose energy connected audience & band in an unexpected manner. We couldn’t help but be mezmorized by the LED backdrop and rotating screens, and being only a few rows back were able to capture some beautiful moments:

Oniracom will miss our Adam Cohen

We will miss our rock star Client Liaison, Adam Cohen. Tracy knew how to throw the perfect Adam party: good people, nachos from his local spot, homemade margaritas and top it off with fresh baked muffins. We also had some Pacifico beers to go with the nachos as you can see Drew & Adam clinking bottles.

We recently returned from an insane ten-day trip to Austin, TX for this year’s main event in music and technology: SXSW 2012. SXSW (Pronounced “South by Southwest,” or simple “South by”) is a massive festival/conference gatherings of tech, film & music professionals, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts. This year’s SXSW saw its high points and higher points.

We are excited to announce that our longtime client and friends at Brushfire Records will release Jack Johnson and Friends - Best of Kokua Festival on April 17th. The album features a 13-track compilation of live performances from Jack Johnson’s Kokua Festival benefit concert for the Kokua Hawaii Foundation. Johnson will be joined by John Cruz and Paula Fuga for an intimate seven-date, all-acoustic tour of the beautiful Hawaiian Islands. The tour will be hitting Kauai, Oahu, Maui and the Big Island. Proceeds from Jack Johnson and Friends - Best of Kokua Festival and the tour will benefit the Kokua Hawaii Foundation which strives to provide students in Hawai’i with activities to enhance their appreciation and care for their enviroment.

Jack Johnson and Friends - Best of Kokua Festival highlights the six amazing years of onstage collaborations with legendary musicians like Willie Nelson, Jackson Browne, Eddie Vedder, Ben Harper, Dave Mathews, Ziggy and Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and more.

Farewell to Mr. Straayer

We are sad to see our long time friend and Account Manager Jimmy Straayer leave the Oniracom family. We had a fun party where we presented Jimmy with some fun gifts thanks to our art director Tad Wagner. Then our own Drew Franklin performed some great cover tunes to cap off the fond farewell. The cold Pacifico brews definitely help ease the pain.
